In Loving Memory of Essie Mae (Tarver) Stanley
In Loving Memory of Essie Mae (Tarver), Stanley Born: June 22, 1921, and died: June 20, 2016.
Aunt Essie Mae was my father’s sister. I was closest to her when we lived in Vidor, Texas. I was around five years old when we moved from Pine Land, Texas. To Vidor. I remember she was an immaculate housekeeper; everything was perfect in her home always. I loved her and my cousins, especially remember the time frame when I started the first grade. They lived across the street from us.
We all visited each other a lot in those days. I remember her calling me Margie Nell. She always laughingly teased me about being sassy and putting my hands on my hips.
Aunt Essie Mae used to call me on my birthday, January 17th, every year when we lived in Beaumont; she remembered my birthday because the date of one of her granddaughters was the same date. I would call her on her birthday June 22nd. Until ten years ago, when we retired and moved to Lake Sam Rayburn. I only talked to her by phone a couple of times after we moved. I have been a family historian for Our family… I always had deeply loved and honored my three aunts and seven uncles. My daddy’s siblings.
My husband Wesley and I went to Aunt Essie Mae’s Memorial in Vidor and picked up our Aunt Lillie “Bobbie” Baumann in Silsbee, Texas. It was Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Beautiful Visitation, my cousins, were so sweet, and we shared loving memories, while viewing the older photos of our family. We hadn’t seen each other in many years. I so appreciated the loving care they showered their mother, and my Aunt, They all surrounded her with their love and was there when she left on her journey home.
