in Vidor Saturday November 4, 1961 Rites Are Held For Mrs. Sarah Tarver in Vidor Saturday Funeral services were held at I0: a rn. Saturday in the South Side Holiness Church of Vidor, for Mrs Surah N. Tarver, 68, of Vidor, who died at 2: a.m. Thursday in Hotel Dieu Hospital after a long illness. The Rev. A. L. Christian, pastor, and the Rev. Bill Mansfield. evangelist, of Vidor, officiated. Burial was in the Broadus Cemetery near San Augustine. Texas, under the direction of Roberts and Pipkin-Brulin Funeral Home. Pallbearers were the Rev. R. N. Davis. Rev. James A. Morris, Rev. Burl Stephens, Rev. Luther Eaves, Rev. Billy Jolly and L.N. McMillin. Mrs. Tarver, a native of Louisiana, had lived in Vidor 12 years. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Vidor. Survivors include six sons, John R Tarver, of Vidor, Jessie R. Tarver, Evadale. Albert Tarver of Zavalla, Alfred Tarver of Buna, Henry Tarver of Sour Lake, and Tom Tarver of San Augustine. Also three daughters, Mrs. Essie Mae Stanly of Vidor, Mrs. Lillie Baumann of Silsbee. and Mrs. Lou Ella Callahan of Ark.; two brothers, N.J. McKeithen, Roganville, Texas, and A. S. McKeithen, Kirbyville; sister, Fostena Davis, Hindston, La.; 46 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

My grandmother was Fostena Amanda Edora McKeithen Davis of Hineston, LA.
We know very little of her family history and would greatly appreciate anything you could share with our family about the McKeithen family.
It was just by chance I found your blog. I enjoyed reading the different stories, etc. and of course the info on Sarah Tarver.
