Daddy’s and My War

2014

I think about my father in the Battle of the Bulge, I can feel his fear and his pain in my chest! He was a young farm boy so far from home.He fought bravely honoring our county. Mother said he came home a different man. When I was in the 5th grade PTSD took over his and our lives. Today he’s 90 years-old and also has dementia. It breaks my heart every visit because he hates me as much as he loves me. I am learning to understand until his last breath he will suffer, and so will I.

His first born daughter…
